We have received information that a fraudulent email was sent out using an old and doctored version of the JonesTshirts.com order confirmation email. If you received an order confirmation email claiming to be from JonesTshirts.com, but did not place an order, it is a fake email. We have provided an example below. JonesTshirts.com did not send these emails. These fake emails are called phishing, because the sender is phishing for your personal information. This specific sender is trying to trick you into giving away PayPal information. The fake email may ask you to click on a link to a fake, spoof website. Do not reply to this email. Do not click on any links contained in the email. And do not download any attachments. Instead, forward any suspicious email to: firstname.lastname@example.org and then delete it. Even if you received a fake email, it does not mean your account has been compromised. If you are concerned about account security, login to your PayPal account and check recent transactions. We are very sorry for this inconvenience!
Below are some helpful tips and steps from PayPal to keep in mind if you think you received a fake email involving JonesTshirts.com and PayPal.
I think I received a fake email...
If you think you've received a suspicious email or have been directed to a fake website, forward it to email@example.com and we'll investigate it for you. Do not change the subject line and do not forward the message as an attachment. After you've forwarded the fake email, delete it from your inbox. We'll send you an email response to let you know if the email is indeed a fake. In the meantime, don't click on any links or download any attachments within the suspicious email.
If an e-mail looks suspicious, don't risk your personal information by responding to it.
If you've already responded to the sender:
